General Terms and Conditions of Hire

1. Definitions

Noa Wander (or “the Rental Company”): Roberto Gambino, Via dei Gelsomini 16/A, 95030 Pedara (CT) — VAT No. 05724600878.

Customer: the natural or legal person who enters into the hire agreement and who is authorised to collect the vehicle.

Authorised Driver: a person other than the Customer, named at the time of booking and approved by Noa Wander, who is authorised to drive the vehicle.

Vehicle: the motorhome covered by the contract, as specified in the booking confirmation.

2. Conclusion of the contract

The contract is deemed to have been concluded upon written confirmation of the booking by Noa Wander, following payment of the required deposit.

Upon collection, the Customer shall sign the Delivery Note, which forms an integral part of and supplements this contract.

3. Bookings and payments

3.1 Deposit and balance

  • A deposit of 30% of the total amount is required at the time of booking.
  • The balance must be paid at least 10 days before the scheduled collection date.
  • Should the balance not be paid by the specified deadline, Noa Wander reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit paid.

3.2 Non-refundable fare

A non-refundable rate is available, requiring full payment in advance at the time of booking, in return for a discount on the list price. In the event of cancellation, regardless of the date, no refund will be given.

3.3 Payment methods

Payments are accepted by credit card only (Visa, Mastercard).

We do not accept cash, cheques or bank transfers.

A credit card is also required to pay the security deposit when you collect the vehicle. If you do not have a credit card with sufficient funds, the hire cannot go ahead.

4. Cancellations and refunds

In the event of cancellation by the Customer, the following cancellation charges, calculated on the basis of the total hire amount, shall apply:

Cancellation must be notified in writing to info@noawander.com. The date of receipt of the written notification determines the calculation of the applicable penalty.

No refunds will be given under any circumstances for the non-refundable rate.

5. Security deposit

When collecting the vehicle, the Customer is required to pay a security deposit by credit card; the amount of this deposit varies depending on the level of insurance chosen:

The deposit is pre-authorised on the credit card and released within 20 days of the vehicle being returned, subject to verification that there is no damage, no traffic fines or any other outstanding charges.

Noa Wander reserves the right to withhold all or part of the security deposit in the event of:

  • damage to the vehicle or its accessories occurring during the hire period;
  • failure to clean the vehicle or returning it in a condition that does not meet the requirements;
  • the fuel tank was not full at the time of return;
  • traffic offences under the Highway Code notified at a later date;
  • returning outside agreed working hours.

6. Mileage

The contract offers the following mileage options, to be selected at the time of booking:

Unused kilometres are non-refundable. If the included daily limit is exceeded, each additional kilometre will be charged at a rate of €0.30 per km, calculated at the time of return.

7. Collection and return

7.1 Venue and standard opening hours

Collection and return take place at the Noa Wander office in Pedara (Catania), at the times agreed at the time of booking.

The standard collection and return times are between 09:00 and 20:00. Any transaction (collection or return) carried out outside these hours will incur an additional charge of €30 per transaction.

Example: collection at 08:00 and return at 21:00 = a total of €60 in out-of-hours surcharges.

7.2 Delivery and collection at different locations

Upon request and subject to availability, delivery or collection can be arranged at locations other than our premises. The costs shown are per journey: off-premises delivery and collection are charged separately.

Example: drop-off at Catania Airport and collection from our premises = €65. Drop-off and collection both at the airport = €130.

7.3 Handover and return report

At the time of collection, a handover report is drawn up detailing the condition of the vehicle, any pre-existing damage, the fuel level and the equipment on board. The Customer is required to check the contents of the report and to report any discrepancies before signing.

A return report is drawn up at the time of return. Should it not be possible, for objective reasons, to carry out an immediate inspection, the report will be sent to the Customer by 24:00 on the day following the return.

7.4 Return conditions

The vehicle must be returned:

  • with a full fuel tank, as it was when you collected the vehicle;
  • with the greywater tank empty;
  • with the chemical toilet completely emptied and flushed;
  • cleaned inside and out, in a condition similar to that at the time of collection.

Failure to comply with the cleaning and emptying requirements (grey water and toilet) will result in a flat-rate charge of €150, which will be deducted from the security deposit. Should any additional work be required that exceeds this amount, the actual cost will be documented and charged to the Customer.

Any missing fuel will be charged separately: Noa Wander will refuel the vehicle and charge the actual cost of the fuel at the time of return, plus a fixed administration fee of €20. Fuel is not included in the €150 flat-rate fee.

8. Use of the vehicle

8.1 Authorised drivers

Only the Customer and any Authorised Drivers specified at the time of booking may drive the vehicle. Each driver must hold a valid driving licence and be at least 25 years of age. Exceptions to the minimum age requirement may be agreed in advance with Noa Wander, subject to a case-by-case assessment. Persons not named in the contract are not permitted to drive the vehicle.

8.2 Prohibitions

The following is prohibited:

  • to sublet or transfer the vehicle to unauthorised third parties;
  • to use the vehicle for commercial activities, the carriage of goods or for professional purposes;
  • to couple trailers or tow other vehicles;
  • take part in sporting events, competitions or trials;
  • driving on unpaved roads, dirt tracks that are impassable or unsuitable for motorhomes;
  • driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • smoking inside the vehicle;
  • exceed the maximum number of occupants stated in the vehicle registration document.

8.3 Animals

Pets are welcome on board, provided you let us know at the time of booking. There is a surcharge of €100 per pet to cover the cost of a thorough clean on your return.

The Customer is liable for any damage caused by the animal to the vehicle, its interior or its fittings. Any necessary repair or restoration costs will be charged to the Customer in addition to the surcharge, and may be deducted from the security deposit.

Animals must be kept in such a way that they do not cause a nuisance or pose a danger whilst driving, in accordance with the Highway Code.

8.4 Geographical area

The vehicle is insured for use on the roads in Italy and in European Union countries, as well as in all countries for which the Green Card attached to the policy is valid. Use of the vehicle is prohibited in countries whose codes are crossed out on the Green Card.

8.5 Routine maintenance during the hire period

The Customer is responsible for checking and maintaining standard fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, tyre pressure and AdBlue, where applicable). Urgent repairs costing less than €50 (including VAT) may be carried out subject to agreement with Noa Wander, upon presentation of an invoice made out to the Hirer. Repairs costing more than this amount require prior written authorisation.

9. Claims and accidents

In the event of a claim, accident, theft or damage, the Customer is required to:

  1. contact Noa Wander immediately on +39 377 333 2521;
  2. complete the CAI form (Amicable Accident Report) in the event of a collision with another vehicle, noting down the details of the other driver, their number plate and their insurer;
  3. to call the police (Traffic Police, Carabinieri or Municipal Police) in the event of accidents involving injuries or significant damage;
  4. collect the names of any witnesses;
  5. send Noa Wander a written report on the incident within 24 hours of the accident;
  6. Do not leave the vehicle unattended.

Under no circumstances must the Client acknowledge liability or enter into transactions with the counterparty without Noa Wander’s prior consent.

Failure to comply with these obligations may result in the total or partial loss of insurance cover and the Customer being held liable for any damages.

10. Customer’s Liability

The Customer is liable for any damage caused to the vehicle and its accessories during the hire period, with the exception of any pre-existing damage documented in the handover report.

The Customer is directly liable for any traffic offences committed during the hire period. Should Noa Wander be notified of any fines, the relevant amounts — including notification fees — will be charged to the Customer.

11. Insurance cover

All Noa Wander vehicles are covered by an insurance policy from HDI Assicurazioni S.p.A. (the ‘Mio Camper’ policy), which includes:

  • Third-party motor liability cover (maximum cover of €25,000,000 per claim) under the ‘free driving’ policy;
  • Campervan Owner’s Third-Party Liability (€1,000,000);
  • Legal Protection (€15,000);
  • Vehicle damage cover (fire, theft, comprehensive cover, special events).

When making a booking, the Customer may choose between three levels of supplementary insurance cover (Basic, Plus, Premium), which determine the amount of the security deposit and the additional cover included. Details of the different levels are available in the dedicated ‘Insurance Cover’ section.

12. Included equipment

All Noa Wander vehicles are supplied with the following standard equipment included in the hire price:

  • one gas cylinder for the entire duration of the hire
  • a full set of crockery
  • cloths and cleaning products for motorhomes
  • levelling kits
  • snow chains
  • first-aid kit
  • fire extinguisher
  • 220V power cable

The Departure Kit (€70) is compulsory for every hire and includes the preparation of the vehicle, a full sanitisation and the replenishment of consumables (gas cylinder, cleaning products) before departure. The cost is included in the quote and the booking confirmation.

13. Fuel regulations

The vehicle is handed over with a full tank of fuel. The customer is required to return it in the same condition.

If the fuel tank is not full upon return, Noa Wander will top up the tank and charge the actual cost of the fuel as recorded at the time of return, plus a fixed administration fee of €50. This amount will be deducted from the security deposit or charged to the Customer separately.

The cost of the missing fuel is not included in the €150 flat-rate charge for failure to clean the vehicle.

14. Early return

If you return earlier than the agreed date, no refund will be given for the days not used.

15. Force majeure and mechanical breakdowns

Noa Wander reserves the right to amend or cancel the hire in the event of a serious mechanical fault or force majeure rendering the vehicle unfit for use on the road. In such cases, the Customer will be offered — where possible — an equivalent alternative or a full refund of the sums paid, without any further compensation.

16. Privacy

The personal data provided by the Customer is processed by Noa Wander in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and current Italian legislation, exclusively for purposes relating to the management of the hire agreement. 17. Jurisdiction

This contract is governed by Italian law. In the event of any dispute arising from the interpretation or performance of this contract, the parties agree that the Court of Catania shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise provided for by law for the protection of consumers.
